First Post-Lockdown Exhibit at Mill Valley Community Center October 2021

I’m having my first post-lockdown exhibit, which is very exciting. My show called “Pt. Reyes Dreaming” goes up at the Mill Valley Community Center on 180 Camino Alto the third week of September, and will be up through the month of October. We’re having an opening reception during the First Tuesday Art Walk, which is from 5:30-7:30, Tuesday, October 5.

Ordinary Beauty

The photos in this exhibit focus on the wonder inherent in the details and patterns to be found in Pt. Reyes. (The Pt. Reyes National Seashore is located on the west coast of Marin County, about 30 miles west of Mill Valley.) The exhibit explores both the balance and the push and pull between the human-built and natural worlds. I hope they lead you to find beauty and mystery in unexpected and maybe even ordinary places. It would be great to see you there!

Exhibit at Coldwell Banker

I have a new exhibit up at the Coldwell Banker office in downtown Mill Valley (25 E. Blithedale Ave). Its theme is “Architecture in the Abstract,” and there are 20 photos in the show. The show will be up for the month of September 2018, and will be part of the Mill Valley First Tuesday ArtWalk, which this month (because of Labor Day) is on Tuesday, September 11. My photo “Skyscraper Dream,” which you can see here, was requested to be submitted for the cover of the ArtWalk brochure this month. If you can come down, the ArtWalk is from 5:30-7:30 that day. Hope to see you there!

“Soul Reflections” Exhibit

I will be showing my photos on the theme “Soul Reflections”at the Cafe del Soul Restaurant in San Rafael from 10/11 to 12/14/17.

This theme is an exploration of the different ways that reflections can expand our view of the world. The photos were taken both in Marin and from places as various as the Canadian Rockies, Yosemite, and Bodie State Park ghost town. Here is a selected preview:

Broken Reflection
Japanese Painting
Lean into Dawn

If you’re interested in seeing more, please come and check it out! You’ll find the Cafe del Soul Restaurant  at 1408 4th St (between D and E Sts), San Rafael, CA . The restaurant is open Mon-Sat 10-8 and Sun 10-7.

The exhibit will also be shown at the Tam Junction restaurant of the same name, starting on 1/12/18. This restaurant is at 247 Shoreline Highway, Mill Valley, and is open the same hours as the San Rafael restaurant.

“Question Perception” Exhibit

I will be showing a selection of photos with the theme “Question Perception” at Elements Salon in Mill Valley for the month of October. It will be listed on the Mill Valley First Tuesday Art Walk for October 3, 2017, 5:30-7:00.

This show is I think the core of my photography work, as it’s my worldview made manifest. I want to produce photographs that challenge people to question their perceptions of reality, that make them think, “What is that? Where is it? What does it remind me of? What does it mean to me?”  To give you an idea of what I mean, here are some selected images from the show:

Miracle Cure
Spheres of Influence
Abstract Art

I hope you’re willing to come along on this exploration with me!  If you’d like to check out the exhibit, you’ll find Elements Salon at 447 Miller St. #C (behind the Framing Dragon), in Mill Valley, CA.  It’s usually open during the day on weekdays and Saturdays; you can call 415-381-4247 to make sure.
